He is currently based in Helsinki, Finland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His artistic interests are placed at the intersection of ecology, intimacy and ritual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A recent graduate of the Sibelius Academy, he has participated in international festivals in Shanghai (R.A.W), Edinburgh (Fringe, International Festival) and Helsinki (Sipoon\u00c4\u00e4net, Musica Nova) with a variety of groups and as a soloist.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has studied with notable figures such as: Petri Kumela, Ismo Eskelinen, Craig Ogden, Tom McKinney, Phillip Thorne (guitar); Riika Talvitie, David Horne, Larry Goves (composition); Ilmo Ranta, Petr Prause and Melinda Maxwell (chamber music).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;In 2023 he was the recipient of the Pro Musica S\u00e4\u00e4ti\u00f6 grant for promising young musicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a performer he is interested in inviting other creative practices into aspects of the concert experience &#8211;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October of 2024, the concert \u201cOctober Ballads\u201d for Sipoon\u00c4\u00e4net international guitar festival represented his debut as a curator and director, bringing together a team of dancers, composers, folk musicians and performance artists.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aside from classical and contemporary music, Mark also enjoys exploring folk-music with his band, Fiddlers on the Ramp, who garnered five-star reviews and a completely sold-out run at the 2019 Edinburgh fringe festival.
